特雷莎·梅宣布将于6月7日辞去英国保守党领袖的职务，引发了英国下一任首相的角逐。
Theresa May says she will step down as U.K. Conservative Party leader on June 7, sparking a contest to become Britain’s next prime minister.
特雷莎·梅在唐宁街说，担任英国首相是她“一生的荣耀”。
Speaking in Downing Street, May said it had been “the honour of my life” to serve as Britain’s prime minister.
她声音哽咽着，说自己离去“不会带着憎恨，而是会满怀着经久不灭的感激”。
Her voice breaking, she said she would leave “with no ill will, but with enormous and enduring gratitude”.
她坦承：“没能够实现脱欧，这在我心中留下深深的遗憾，我也将为此永远抱憾。”
She admitted: “It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit.”
