曾经沧海难为水,除却巫山不是云。
No water’s wide enough when you have crossed the sea; No cloud is beautiful but that which crowns the peak. / It is difficult to be water for one who has seen the great seas, and difficulti to be clouds for one who has seen the Yangtze Gorges. / One who has sailed the vast seas is not impressed by just any body of water; One who has been to the Wu Mountains is not easily awed by just any cloud. / He who has seen a great ocean cannot content himself with a pond; Having viewed the clouds over Wu Mountains, he will call nothing else a cloud.
